2. How does it affect others?
People form groups that assemble people from one country, one village/town, one language, one centre of interest (football, classmates, whatever it might be). Some of those groups serve as a way to provide assistance to any of their members in case of emergencies like death.This is great. But how far does that help the surviving family?
Talk to families that have experienced the loss of a bread winner and see how easy they are doing.
Because of their faith, believers (no matter which faith you belong to) see Life Insurance as not a necessary means to cushion their life. Yet they are still going to die. No matter how soon or later. So, who is going to pay for their funeral? It’s you and me.
Did you ever add up the money given out at these frequent fundraisings to bury passed on members of the community? Could the community raise such money and use it for a common long lasting cause that brings more benefits, like a social hall for everybody, a scholarship fund or paying off that draining mortgage debt for a church?
Is this being a good steward of the Lord’s money?
It’s a mess for everybody. It’s a heavy social cost to the communities.
